In the Business Club, on Friday, February 8, entrepreneurs – caterers discussed with Mayor Ilija Jovicic. From 2 pm they discussed topics of interest for this business activity. Questions raised about planned employment incentives, utility issues and others and all of them were recorded and forwarded to competent departments of the Municipal Administration. The Business Club is open every Friday from 2 pm.

The public hearing will be held on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at 6 pm in the Hall of the Municipal Assembly of the Municipality of Brod (Post Office).
Draft of the Integral Capital Investment Program of the Municipality of Brod for the period 2019-2021 was published on the Official Website of the Municipality: www.opstina-brod.net and on www.investinbrod.com and all interested parties can download it in printed form at the Department for Local Development of the Municipality of Brod.

The Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy is warmly inviting you to participate in the program “Bayern – Fit for Partnership” on the topic “Machinery and Technical Equipment in the Metallurgical Industry for Companies from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia” for a period of five days.
The aim of this trip is to establish business contacts, exchange of knowledge and experience of business subjects, educate participants, and deepen business cooperation between the Bavarian, Bosnian-Herzegovinian and Serbian companies and institutions. During the stay, visits to Bavarian companies and relevant institutions are provided, as well as participation at home fairs and cooperative exchanges.
The trip will be organized in the period from 18th to 23rd March 2019. Costs of participation for the planned study trip are EUR 20 per person/night (ie a total of EUR 100). According to the program, the following services are covered: organization and study trip, transport by bus during the entire stay in Germany, accommodation, food and drink, insurance, program monitoring by the organizers from Bavaria during the trip, translation services and final certificate for the participants, issued by the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy. Travel costs (airline tickets or own transport) to Munich and back are paid by participants themselves.
The target group of this trip are leaders, ie decision-makers and experts of BiH and Serbian companies and institutions in the given field. The deadline for the application is February 15, 2019, which is to be sent to e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org. The number of subsidized participants from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia is limited, and the final selection of participants and the realization of trip are under the ingerence and sponsorship of the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy represented by the service company “Bayern International GmbH”.
- Bayern International GmbH, in cooperation with the Bavarian Ministry of EconomicAffairs, Regional Development and Energy, defines: the final selection of participants, the choice of subsidized participants as well as the selection of participants who will pay the full amount of study trip costs in the amount of EUR 700 per person.
- If there are two registered persons from the same company or organization, one participant will be subsidized, while the other participant is obliged to pay the full amount of study trip expenses.

The Assembly of the Municipality of Brod adopted The Plan of Capital and Other Significant Investments in 2019 in accordance with the Development Strategy for the period 2016 – 2020 at the 23rd Session held on December 14, 2018.
The Plan of Capital and Other Significant Investments in 2019 is in accordance with the Development Strategy of the Municipality of Brod for the period 2016-2020 and it represents a one-year project implementation plan coming from the current Brod Municipality Development Strategy for the period 2016 – 2020. Its content includes projects from the Development Strategy of the Municipality of Brod for the period 2016 – 2020 which will be implemented in 2019 (funds from the municipality’s budget, credit and/or grants), as well as projects to be applied for donor funds by the Municipal Administration during 2019 and projects that were envisaged in the Plan of Capital and Other Significant Investments in 2018, and which implementation has begun.

The Economic Council of the Municipality of Brod held its 10th session on Wednesday, December 12th, at the meeting hall of the Municipality starting from 6 pm. The session was chaired by the President of the Council Mr. Gradimir Vukman. The meeting was attended by the members of the Council, the Mayor of the Municipality Mr. Ilija Jovicic, the point processors and officials of the Municipal Administration who explained the items on the agenda and a journalist from Radio Brod.
The session was called to discuss certain items on the agenda that will be found at the 23rd regular session of the Municipal Assembly of Brod. Members of the Council adopted the following agenda:
- Approval of the minutes from the previous session,
- 2019 Draft Budget,
- Draft of the Credit Decision,
- Capital Investment Plan,
- Draft Decision on Utility Fee,
- Revision of Skele Regulatory Plan,
- Merging utility companies,
- Work Plan of the Economic Council for 2019,
During the discussion, the members of the Council presented suggestions and remarks that will be used in further work of the Municipal Administration.
The International Real Estate and Investment Fair in Banja Luka (BLIRE 2018) is being held in order to improve business, acquire valuable contacts, promote real estate, companies and direct contacts with decision-makers from the largest local and regional institutions. The Local Development Department of the Municipality of Brod will present the investment potentials and tourist offer of Brod during the fair, on November 27th and 28th, at the Banja Luka Fair. The Municipal Assembly of Brod adopted a draft budget for the next year. At the 22nd regular session of the Assembly of the Municipality of Brod, the councilors adopted the proposed eight points. At this session, a draft municipal budget for 2019 was adopted, and suggestions on this issue can be made during public debates on the draft budget. The draft budget for 2019 in the amount of 9.992.000,00 KM puts the focus, within various consumer units, on development projects and grants to non-governmental organizations.
The 9th session of the Chamber of Commerce was held on Thursday, November 1, at the meeting hall of the municipality starting from 6 pm. The meeting was attended by: members of the councils, Mayor Ilija Jovičić, point processors from the Municipal administration, directors of public companies and institutions. Issues that are of importance for improving the business environment in the Brod municipality were considered.
As for the topic of secondary school entry in Brod, it has been said that education profiles need to be more aligned with the demand in the economy. A letter of conclusion will be sent to the relevant Ministry on this topic.
The second item on the agenda was related to the results of a poll carried out by business entities in Brod. After the analysis of the survey presented, the council members gave their suggestions for the next survey of businessmen.
The theme on the price and quality of utility services discussed the problems that communal enterprises encounter in their work.
For the point on administrative and communal fees and taxes, businessmen in the council proposed harmonization of individual fees in relation to prices in the municipalities in the surrounding.
Under the item, various issues are being proposed, which, because of their importance, will be on the agenda of some of the next session of the Council. The session was closed at 20:00.
Ambassador of the Czech Republic to BiH Jakub Skalnik was in Brod on 11.10.2018. In the Municipal Administration, he talked with the mayor of the Municipality of Brod, Ilija Jovičić. Topics of the discussion were the situation in the municipality, development projects, cooperation with non-governmental organizations, investments and other possibilities for further cooperation with the Embassy of the Czech Republic.
During the visit to Brod, Ambassador Skalnik visited a fruit processing unit in Donji Kolib. Dryers and fruit processing are part of the Project for Empowering Sustainable Economic Growth in Fruit, Forest Fruit and Medicinal Herbal Processing, which is one of the most successful major projects financed by the development aid of the Czech Republic.
